This is a Criminal Appeal against the conviction and sentence of murder passed by the learned trial Judge in a judgment delivered on 16/10/86.

In the Court below the appellant was charged with the offence of murdering one Godwin Okor on or about 28th February, 1983 at Ala Square Ozoro in the Oleh Judicial Division.

The prosecution called 4 witnesses to establish its case. The accused/appellant gave evidence on oath but called no witnesses. The learned trial Judge after reviewing the whole evidence before the court, rejected all the defences put up by the accused and held that the prosecution had proved a case of murder against the accused person. He found the accused guilty, convicted the accused/appellant for the offence of murder and sentenced him to death by hanging.
